The Armor of God

When it feels like the world is full of chaos, it’s easy to get so swept up in the news and become deeply disheartened. We just want the world to be a better place but it just seems to be getting worse.

The Word of God speaks to the evil in the world. Frequently. And as Christians, we are not helpless against it.

God has given us a way to stand.

Last semester in my hermeneutics seminary class, I studied and did an exegetical analysis of Ephesians 6:10-20. Most of the semester was spent reading up on the context, greek, & analyzing the text to dig deeper into the meaning.

Studying the Bible in this way is teaching me soooo much - way more than I can share on an IG post! So today I just want to share a few application points that can hopefully encourage you.

1️⃣: God has given us the spiritual tools to equip us for the spiritual battle. We are reminded that we do not fight against flesh and blood. And while the spiritual darkness is very real, the Light is always victorious, and in Christ we have access to a way to stand and fight. We are not helpless against it.

2️⃣: The armor of God protects us, but it also provides a way to fight - with the Sword of the Spirit, the Word of God.

3️⃣: We are not to simply react to the evil in this world, but to always stand firm in truth.

The full armor of God helps us to stand firm:
• belt of truth
• breastplate of righteousness
• shoes of the gospel of peace
• shield of faith
• helmet of salvation
• sword of the Spirit, which is the Word

Be encouraged: You are EQUIPPED for this battle in Christ!⚔️🛡

what you tell yourself matters.

what you tell yourself matters.

today’s declaration:
—————————
my life has value.
my story has purpose.
my soul has worth.

✨✨✨
I know what it’s like to allow a negative mindset to keep you trapped. Or allow a toxic situation to keep you stuck. That’s actually why I started this podcast Declaration Life.

Every episode, I begin by sharing a declaration to speak over your life.

But it’s not just words. This is a practice I’ve had to learn to put into place for my own mental health. Sometimes it’s an affirming statement, sometimes I simply read scripture out loud.

Because I realized that we have a CHOICE in our thought life. We don’t have to accept the lies! I used to accept those feelings and self-deprecating thoughts as fact. But that does not have to be our reality. I’ve been learning what it means to truly take every thought captive to Christ (2 Cor. 10:5).

Let’s tell ourselves the right things. Let’s declare truth.

Some incredible women have come on the podcast, shared their stories and encouragement, and we are over 55 episodes in now! I hope this podcast is able to encourage all who listen to know that your life matters, and you can choose how to live it.

Choose to declare life!
